Naval Architect
Design and verify vessels that survive real seas - stability, hull structures and class submissions for workboats, barges and offshore support vessels.
What you'll do
- Perform intact and damage stability analysis in Maxsurf for new and modified vessels.
- Develop hull forms, general arrangements and structural drawings.
- Prepare class submission packages to ABS, DNV and Lloyd's rules.
- Run longitudinal strength and local structure checks.
- Support inclining experiments and sea trials with the client team.
What we need
- Degree in Naval Architecture or Ocean Engineering.
- 2+ years in vessel design, stability or class approval work.
- Maxsurf (or GHS) and AutoCAD/Rhino proficiency.
- Working knowledge of IMO stability criteria and class rules.
- Right to work in the UK (Glasgow office, hybrid possible).
Bonus points for
- FEA of marine structures (ANSYS).
- Small craft (MCA workboat code) experience.
- Offshore wind support vessel exposure.
