15kW Residential Elevated Solar PV System
Residential Solar PV System Designs
At Fluxiss , we provide practical solar panel design and calculation services for residential projects across different regions and grid standards. This project shows how we handle real site challenges, engineering limits, and energy goals using proper simulation tools and clear design logic.
Project Overview: 15kW Residential Elevated Solar PV System
This project involved a 15kW residential elevated solar PV system, designed for a home where roof height, airflow, and shading were major concerns. The client wanted maximum energy output without compromising structure safety or electrical compliance.
We designed and simulated the complete system using HelioScope and PVsyst, which allowed us to test performance before installation and reduce future risks.
System Configuration
- 26 × Jinko 580W solar panels
- 15kW Inverex Nitrox 3-Phase inverter
- South-facing orientation
- Elevated steel structure with variable height
Project Challenge: Elevated Structure, Tilt Optimization & Zero Shading
Designing an elevated residential solar system is not the same as a standard rooftop setup. The main challenges were:
- Creating a safe elevated steel structure between 7 ft and 10 ft
- Selecting a tilt angle (5.4°) that balances wind load and energy yield
- Avoiding shading from nearby structures
- Managing DC and AC protection in a limited residential electrical space
Our engineering team had to ensure zero shading loss, correct cable sizing, and safe electrical isolation while keeping the design practical for real installation.
Engineering Solution by Fluxiss
Fluxiss delivered a complete solar PV design and calculation package, including:
- Detailed HelioScope and PVsyst simulations
- Elevated structure layout with load consideration
- Full electrical single-line diagram
- DC disconnect integration
- 4-Pole circuit breaker configuration
- System loss analysis and performance ratio check
Every design decision was based on site conditions, not assumptions.
Project Outcome: Verified Performance & Clean Energy Output
The final design achieved strong and verified results:
- Annual Energy Production: 23.20 MWh
- Performance Ratio: 77.4%
- Shading Losses: 0.0%
- Optimized South-Facing Layout
- Safe elevated structure ready for execution
The client received a system that delivers predictable energy, lower grid dependency, and long-term reliability.
