100kW Elevated Commercial Solar PV System Delivering Smart Energy for Business Operations

At Fluxiss, we provide solar panel design and calculation services for commercial buildings across different countries. This project highlights how our engineering team handles real-world site limits, shading issues, and performance targets without overcomplicating the solution.

This 100kW commercial solar PV system was designed for a multi-story business facility where roof space, nearby structures, and electrical coordination were major factors. Our role was to deliver a clear, build-ready design that installers and stakeholders could trust.

Smart Solar Design for Commercial Roofs

Commercial rooftops often look simple, but once you study them closely, the real challenges appear. For this project, Fluxiss delivered a complete commercial solar PV system design using industry-standard tools like HelioScope and PVSyst to ensure accuracy from day one.

The system uses 172 Jinko 585W solar panels paired with a Huawei SUN2000-115KTL-M2 inverter, selected for high-capacity commercial operation and stable performance.

Site & Design Challenges

Every commercial site is different. This one came with three clear challenges:

  • Limited roof clearance, requiring an elevated structure
  • Surrounding buildings, causing partial shading
  • Maximum coverage requirement, with minimum tilt

To solve this, Fluxiss designed an elevated mounting structure ranging from 6 ft to 12 ft in height, keeping access and safety in mind. A 3-degree tilt was used to allow higher panel density while maintaining drainage and performance.

Shading analysis showed a 9.6% loss, which was carefully modeled and documented so the client had realistic expectations before installation.

Engineering, Calculations & Electrical Planning

Our solar panel design and calculation service goes beyond layouts. For this project, we delivered:

  • Accurate DC and AC sizing
  • MPPT configuration optimized for string balance
  • Clear DC disconnect and grounding design
  • Full electrical single-line and wiring diagrams
  • Grounding and protection using Chint components

The final simulation projected an annual energy output of 136.9 MWh with a Performance Ratio of 69.5%, matching site conditions and shading impact.

This level of detail helps EPC teams reduce on-site changes and speeds up approvals.
