Elevated Solar Excellence: The Rotary Food Park Project (Approx. 300kW Commercial PV System)

We took on a challenge that many companies face: how to build a massive 296kW solar PV system without sacrificing a critical parking area. The solution was a large-scale, elevated structure design, transforming a parking lot into a dual-purpose solar carport energy producer.

The Engineering Challenge: Designing a High-Output, Multi-Functional Elevated Solar PV Structure

Building a structure that is both a secure parking canopy and a high-performance power plant is not simple. We had to tackle several key engineering difficulties:

  • Height and Tilt Optimization: The client needed a minimum clearance of 9 feet (approx. 2.7 meters) to a maximum of 14 feet (approx. 4.2 meters) to accommodate vehicles. Our design had to achieve this height while ensuring the panels had the perfect tilt. We calculated a precise 10-degree tilt for the 501 Jinko 590W solar panels to catch maximum sunlight in that specific location.

  • Maximizing Power & Managing Complexity: Using a high-capacity, single point of conversion, the powerful Huawei SUN2000-330KTL-H1 inverter was chosen. This centralizes the AC output to a 330kW AC power rating, simplifying the overall electrical infrastructure. However, connecting all 501 modules required a highly detailed and complex DC stringing and full electrical plan to ensure safety and code compliance.

  • Shading and Performance Control (A Crucial Step for High-Yield Solar): Even in an open area, shading from the structure itself, or other objects, must be minimal for high performance. Through detailed simulations using professional tools like HelioScope and PVSyst, we were able to project an extremely low shading loss of only 0.9%! This level of precision is what sets Fluxiss apart.
