This service spotlight explains how the Fluxiss ESG Strategy and Sustainability Reporting service helps energy and industrial organisations publish sustainability commitments they can actually defend. Regulators, lenders, investors and customers now read sustainability disclosures next to the financial accounts, and a claim that cannot be traced back to what the assets consume, emit and withstand is a risk rather than an asset. Fluxiss builds the strategy from engineering and operational evidence, so the reported numbers and the capital plan tell the same story.
Everything starts with an auditable emissions baseline. Organisational and operational boundaries are set to match how the business is really controlled, then facilities, energy systems, fleets, purchased electricity, fuels, refrigerants, process emissions, logistics and the material value-chain categories are mapped into one data structure with named owners and evidence sources. Scope 1, Scope 2 and the relevant Scope 3 categories are documented with activity data, emission factors, estimation methods, exclusions and uncertainty, so the baseline can be recalculated after an acquisition, a disposal or a methodology change. Energy, water, waste, safety, workforce, supply-chain and governance indicators sit in the same register, and material topics are ranked by business impact and stakeholder significance.
“How the Fluxiss ESG Strategy and Sustainability Reporting service ties disclosures to engineering evidence: an auditable Scope 1, 2 and 3 baseline, TCFD climate risk at asset level, a costed Net Zero / SBTi decarbonisation roadmap, and KPI governance that is ready for lender and assurance review.”
Climate risk is then taken down to asset level under a TCFD Climate Risk Assessment. Locations and critical infrastructure are screened for heat, flood, water stress, wildfire, wind and coastal hazards across chosen time horizons and climate scenarios, and exposure is combined with asset sensitivity, existing protection, operational criticality and recovery time. Transition risks such as energy price, carbon cost, technology change, customer requirements, insurance and regulation are assessed alongside. Priority risks become engineering studies, adaptation measures and business-continuity actions with owners, timing and cost ranges, instead of staying as coloured cells on a heat map.
Targets need a delivery pathway, so the Net Zero / SBTi roadmap is costed measure by measure: operational control, energy efficiency, heat recovery, electrification, renewable procurement, onsite generation, storage, fuel switching, process change, material efficiency and credible treatment of residual emissions. Each measure is checked for technical feasibility, dependencies, capital and operating cost, payback and risk, then sequenced around asset life, planned shutdowns, grid capacity, contract dates and budget cycles. Marginal abatement cost and scenario analysis separate the no-regret projects from options that depend on policy or energy prices, and the engineering behind them links directly to Fluxiss work in Solar Engineering and Design, HVAC Engineering and Sustainable Design and Certification.
The last layer is reporting, governance and assurance readiness. Fluxiss defines KPI owners, reporting frequency, calculation rules, evidence retention, controls, restatement policy and management review, and maps disclosures to the frameworks and jurisdictions the client selects, such as the CSRD requirements covered in our CSRD compliance guide, without making claims the evidence cannot support. The deliverables are an ESG data pack, strategy, climate-risk register, costed roadmap, governance model, KPI dashboard specification and reporting narrative. For organisations also planning new generation assets, the renewable energy advisory spotlight explains how Renewable Feasibility and Due Diligence and Renewable Financial Modelling fit alongside.
A useful ESG enquiry includes the organisational structure and list of sites, twelve to twenty-four months of energy, fuel and refrigerant data, any existing sustainability report or target, the reporting frameworks or lender requirements that apply, major planned capital projects, and the deadline for the next disclosure. Organisations can contact Fluxiss with that information or schedule a technical meeting to agree the boundary, data plan and deliverables before work begins.
