Fluxiss Launches Offshore Structural Engineering Service Line

Fluxiss has launched a dedicated offshore structural engineering service line, bringing jacket design, environmental loading, tubular-joint fatigue, corrosion assessment and the integrity evaluation of existing platforms together in one place. The service connects our structural, naval architecture, FEA and seismic teams, so an operator or EPC can take a single structural question through to a decision without splitting the scope across several consultants.

The new offshore structural engineering hub sets out six connected assessment areas: jacket design and global response; wave, wind and current loads; fatigue and tubular joints; corrosion and residual capacity; vessel impact and damaged structures; and global and local offshore FEA. Each area explains which inputs are needed, which checks matter and how the result feeds a design, modification or life-extension decision.

“Jacket design, wave loading, tubular-joint fatigue, corrosion and integrity assessment of existing platforms now sit under one offshore hub, backed by 19 practical guides and a scope-review checklist for operators and EPCs.”

Existing assets are a particular focus. An assessment begins with the as-is geometry, weight register, load history and inspection findings, compares them with the original design basis and the proposed future operation, and identifies the critical members and joints, the conditional assumptions and the engineering basis for any repair or operating restriction. The hub also lists what to share for a scope review: as-built drawings and member schedules, site metocean and foundation data, topside weights and proposed modifications, inspection reports and thickness readings, and the operating history together with the decision deadline.

The launch is backed by a new technical library. Nineteen practical offshore guides now sit alongside more than 250 engineering articles organised into ten topic hubs covering pipe stress, FEA and CAE, structural engineering, pressure vessels, naval architecture, seismic analysis, HVAC and MEP, manufacturing and DFM, and renewable energy. The offshore set covers the jacket design workflow, wave-load calculation, fatigue life, marine growth, ship collision, retrofitting versus replacement and the residual strength of ageing platforms.

Offshore structural engineering sits alongside our existing structural engineering, naval architecture, finite element analysis, seismic analysis, renewable energy engineering and manufacturing support services, and runs on the same documented quality system and deliverable formats as the rest of our structural and marine work.

Operators, EPCs and offshore wind developers who would like a scope review can start from the offshore hub or write to inquiries@fluxiss.com. We are glad to look at drawings, inspection records and design-basis documents ahead of a formal proposal.
