New Naval Architecture Team Onboards

Fluxiss has onboarded a four-person naval architecture team, significantly expanding our marine engineering capability. The team brings combined experience across Lloyd’s Register, ABS and DNV class projects, with a track record spanning barges, offshore support vessels, conversion scopes and floating wind substructures.

The new capability sits alongside our existing structural and FEA practices, allowing us to deliver integrated hull-and-outfit packages rather than handing structural scopes to a third party. Early focus areas include barge conversions for modular transport, stability booklets for new-build OSVs, and mooring analysis for floating offshore wind using ANSYS AQWA.

Fluxiss strengthens its marine capability with the addition of a four-person naval architecture team covering hull design, stability, conversions and mooring analysis.

“Naval architecture has been a requested scope from our existing clients for some time, particularly those operating in the offshore and marine renewables sectors,” said David Ross. “Bringing it in-house means we can offer a single accountable package from hull lines through to pipe stress on the deck modules.”

The team is fully equipped with Maxsurf, ANSYS AQWA and STAAD.Pro, and is integrated into our documented quality system. Class submittal packages are produced to the relevant society’s format, with response matrices tracked through the approval cycle.
